Read your life in a bombshell continued. What a great read. Got shock of my life when half way through you started talking about my uncle Adrian (Tom) Nixon.

Hi Dennis,

I am awake but I have not much to comment other than to say: Your July 4th greeting brought back good old memories:.
I always loved actor Robert Morley's comment regarding July 4th, courtesy British Airlines: Do come home all is forgiven!! Loved it, and laughed  long an hard,,

Thanks Dennis that was great.  Still working hard.  The beer did not taste the same as I remember it.  I guess it is all the medications.

Happy Birthday Glo.

Maureen, I am on Medicare so they pay for the hospital and the rehab, I have a 100 days.  So far I am OK. We also have a supplemental union pension as John was with the Electrical Union for over 30 years.

Dennis, we keep saying a bottle of Guinness would work wonders.

Hi Anne,

First of all, happy to hear you are on the mend.
The UK type of rehab sounds great!!
If I had to stay in the hospital then rehab for the amount of time you did I would be bankrupt. We have wonderful medicine here in the US, however, the cost can be exorbitant. We are waiting to see what the new healthcare may cost. my son has a preexisting condition: Cancer - 17 years ago.. never a sick day in his life before or since but was unable to get insurance because of that.
Then last year with the Obama health plan he was able to buy it. I pay $350 per month for coverage. That covers a lot of problems. There are less expensive plans but they cover less.
Get well and keep us posted..

Anne M - have you ever tried a glass of stout which has had a red hot poker plunged into it ?

I have a cousin who when she was young suffered from Anaemia.

The local G.P. suggested that she should be given a small cup of stout which had a red hot poker plunged into it.

I don't know if it worked ....

Still in rehab.  There is one place in Southport Uk that has a bar and pub lounge but not here,.  John is going to sneak me a beer in this afternoon.  First one in 6 months.  Beats to goose grease.

Well Dennis,

I can imagine worse things than goose grease on my chest at this point in my life but I think I will make sure in future that I always spell your name correctly...LOL.

Hi Maureen - I will forgive you this time, but if you let it happen again I will come over there and lather your chest with Goose Grease 😁😂😃😄

I recall as a boy (65 years ago) my parents had a large Horlicks jar filled with Goose Grease, it was kept under the bath.

Hi Dennie,

Well that brings back long forgotten memories.
I remember my grandma saving the goose grease for chest rubs. What an awful smell it had. The only thing that smelt as bad to me was Thermagene?? I think that was the name..
