John,
Lovely to hear from you.
Sounds like Blackpool was Nirvana for you and Lilian.
Do you or anyone on the board remember the movie about Blackpool that featured the Tower ballroom. The title escapes me but I loved seeing it. We, my girl friend and I  used to go to the Winter Garden Ballroom. I think we thought it was more upscale than the Tower. When we went to the Isle Of Man for our wakes week, we thought we were going overseas - LOL Now my grandchildren go to every corner of the world without a second thought..
Merry Christmas from Orlando, FL

Thanks for the memories. In late 1952 I had just completed my Natioonal Service, two years in th e Royal Navy and joined my pals on the Saturday night train from Colne to Blackpool with entry into the Tower ballroom. I met a girl from Blackburn that night called Lillian and later met up again for more trips on the Saturday night trip to Backpool. In 1954 I married Lillian and in 2017 we are still together with lots of happy memories of trips to Blackpool.

What Christmas traditions do you still remember??
I still remember the Salvation Army Band playing Christmas music. Our Christmas tree had lighted candles for about 15 mins, probably for a good reason - FIRE..
We had pillow cases at the end of our bed and they were filled with fruits and nuts and just a couple of presents.Would love to hear from you all..

No, Anita you didn't go wrong,at least in my humble opinion. I loved all of the things on the site. I did go over to the link you suggested and I made a mention "Like" of the blue bells. You are very talented and obviously love to paint...

Hi Mike, How do I send to you an up-dated photo of our family? Many years have passed since my last photo. Can a photo be attached to a post? It is good to see your page is still running and I guess I should post more often! All the best to you. I hope you are in good health.
